Liverpool supporters have laughed off former coach Chris Kirkland’s story that he once suggested Jordan Pickford as a potential signing.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the ex-Reds shot-stopper recalled a story where he suggested the England international as a potential signing for Liverpool in 2016.
Kirkland played with Pickford in the 2015/16 season at Preston North End. And the former England star believes that the now Everton number one was one of the best keepers he has ever played with.

Indeed, the goalkeeper coach said: “I told some of the Liverpool staff that Jordan was the best young keeper I had worked with.
“I told them he was going to be something special. But obviously, nobody listened and he eventually ended up at Everton!”
Indeed, whilst Pickford has had success with both Everton and England, most Liverpool supporters on social media are glad the club never signed the 27-year-old.

Moreover, with Alisson Becker between the sticks, Liverpool have one of the best shot-stoppers in Europe. As well as a keeper who will likely be the club’s number one for many years to come.
Here’s what some Liverpool fans had to say on Twitter about Kirkland’s revelation surrounding Jordan Pickford…
Pickford will likey start tonight for England in the Euro 2020 final against Italy. Moreover, the Everton player will only be the second Englishman to start in a major international final.
