However, Brendan Rodgers’ men made the scoreline somewhat respectable with Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho adding late consolation strikes.
It means the Midlands outfit sit just five points clear of fifth-placed West Ham United, ahead of the Hammers’ clash with Everton this Sunday.
A look ahead to the remaining fixtures following matchday 35 will leave the King Power faithful biting their fingernails over their Champions League chances. Whilst the side face Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, David Moyes men have favourable games against the likes of West Brom, Brighton and Southampton.
