It looks as though Mario Balotelli might be heading back to Italian football. The controversial striker is a free agent after the end of his short-term spell at French side Marseille, where he scored eight goals in 15 appearances.
After previously being linked with a move to Brazilian side Flamengo, it now appears a deal is close that would see Balotelli joining Serie A new boys Brescia. As reported by The Guardian, the 29-year-old is close to signing a three-year deal with the Italian side.
It is a potential deal that has certainly amused Leeds United fans.
Because whilst Balotelli is known to be a combustible character, even he might not be a match for the enigmatic owner of his apparent new club.

Massimo Cellino was previously the owner of Leeds United and it is fair to say that his time at the club was eventful.
From a revolving door of managers, outrageous press conferences and his fear of the number 17, Cellino was a headline machine at Elland Road.
Nowadays, whilst most fans at Leeds would agree Cellino’s time in charge was a disaster, it has also gained a level of novelty and cult-like status among the more self-deprecating Leeds fan.
But the idea of Balotelli, who infamously set his house on fire with fireworks, and Cellino, who performed on stage with the Pigeon Detectives at an end of season shindig in 2014, working together certainly has some Leeds United fans fearing the worst.
But who knows? Maybe it could be a match made in heaven…
