Plenty of Leeds United fans believe that the whole of England has finally seen just how important Kalvin Phillips is for club and country.
The 25-year-old has 17 caps for the Three Lions, earning a spot in Gareth Southgate’s squad following his efforts for Leeds during 2020-21.
Phillips played every game for England at Euro 2020, forging a fine understanding with Declan Rice and helping the nation reach the final.

However, the England player of the year was absent for their latest World Cup qualifiers due to injury.
And against Hungary, England really missed Phillips as they laboured to a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
Southgate opted for a midfield trio of Rice, Phil Foden and Mason Mount, but all three struggled to impact on the game.
England fell behind to Roland Sallai’s 24th-minute penalty following Luke Shaw’s foul, but equalised through John Stones.
Although the Three Lions remain top of Group I and in pole position to reach Qatar, there’s no doubting they delivered a disjointed display.
Here is what some Leeds fans made of England’s display without Phillips:
England need four points from their final two games – a home game with Albania and trip to San Marino – to guarantee a spot in the World Cup finals.
