Some Leeds fans react as Sean McGurk completes move

Some Leeds United fans were reacting after the club completed a move for Sean McGurk.

The Whites revealed on their official website that the 18-year-old has joined on a three-year deal from Wigan Athletic.

Leeds have been targeting a move for McGurk for some time. The Whites tried to sign him alongside his ex-Latics teammate Joe Gelhardt last summer.

He was in sensational form for the Wigan under-18s last season, scoring 13 goals as he helped the team win promotion. The ace also netted three times in five FA Youth Cup games.

He was sent a good luck message by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher following his move to Elland Road.

It seems as though Marcelo Bielsa’s side are building for the future after McGurk completed his move to Leeds. While it has its own issues, it is a brilliant idea from the club.

However, the 18-year-old is the fourth player aged 24 or younger to join Leeds during this summer’s transfer window.

The Argentine needs to be wary of ridding the squad of all its experience in favour of young talent. Ezgjan Alioski, Gaetano Berardi and Pablo Hernandez have already departed, leaving a gaping hole in the squad.

Youthful exuberance is a good thing to possess. However, experience can be crucial during tough moments.
