Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a player in the January transfer window some believe has the potential to be even better than Cristian Romero.

Radu Dragusin looks to be one of Spurs’ top targets for next month. Ange Postecoglou’s side have been dealing with a raft of injuries this season.

And for the second time, they are now preparing for a run without both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

It has been suggested that Spurs lead the race for Dragusin, who only signed permanently for Genoa at the start of this year.

Of course, there may be some concerns about how ready he will be to play in the Premier League. The 21-year-old is still establishing himself in Serie A.

But it seems that many at Genoa have extremely high hopes for the youngster. According to a report from Calciomercato. It, some inside the club believe that he has the potential to be even better than Romero.

A no-brainer for Tottenham

Romero has his flaws. His discipline has come under the microscope particularly after he picked up a red card against Chelsea and was lucky to not receive the same punishment against Newcastle.

But there is absolutely no question that he is an outstanding defender. He has won the World Cup with Argentina. And he was exceptional in the early stages of this season alongside van de Ven.

In truth, if Dragusin can get close to that level, then Tottenham will have a seriously good cluster of centre-back options should they manage to strike a deal.

Certainly, at £26 million, he could definitely prove to be a real bargain for Spurs over the coming years. And given their need to sign another centre-back, it seems like a no-brainer for Tottenham at this stage.
