Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas was in international action today as he played the first half of Greece’s friendly win over Cyprus.
The Reds full-back has linked up with the Ethniki for their November programme, with today’s friendly followed by UEFA Nations League meetings with Moldova and Slovenia.

Tsimikas put in an impressive performance for Greece, linking up well with winger Christos Tzolis, making runs on the overlap and trying his luck at goal with an effort that was just wide.
The 24-year-old was one of five players taken off at the break by John van’t Schip as the Euro 2004 champions fine-tuned their preparations ahead of Nations League action.
Here is what some Greece fans were saying about Tsimikas during and after the game in Athens:
Tzolis gave Greece the lead on eight minutes and Georgios Giakoumakis doubled the hosts’ advantage just after the quarter-hour mark, though Marios Elia halved the deficit on 57 minutes.
The Ethniki take on Moldova – bottom of Group K as things stand – in Chisinau on Sunday and then host leaders Slovenia on Wednesday.
