Everton forward Richarlison, along with Toffees teammate Allan, were in World Cup qualifying action for Brazil last night.

The Goodison Park duo helped the Selecao make it three wins out of three as they beat Venezuela 1-0 in Sao Paulo.

Richarlison won his 22nd cap for his country, being named in Tite’s starting XI at centre-forward with fellow Premier League duo Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino either side of him.

Allan, meanwhile, made his first Brazil appearance since November 2019 as he was named in central midfield, flanked by Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz and Flamengo’s Everton Ribeiro.

While Richarlison’s work rate was good as usual and was often involved in the final third, he didn’t have much luck in front of goal for the most part.

The 23-year-old found the back of the net in the seventh minute, only for the effort to be disallowed for offside, and later on he spurned a great opportunity from close range.

In the end, Richarlison was replaced by Pedro as Brazil earned themselves a narrow victory, courtesy of Firmino’s second-half goal.

Here is what some fans made of the Everton man’s display on the night:

The victory means Brazil have nine points from nine and puts them top of the South American qualifying group ahead of Tuesday’s meeting with Uruguay.
