Some fans react as Arsenal star dazzler for their country
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney was in action on Wednesday night for his country – and some Scotland fans were delighted with his individual performance.
The Scottish 23-year-old was part of his team’s 2-2 draw away to the Netherlands in an international friendly.
Steve Clarke’s Scotland stepped up preparation for Euro 2020 with a strong result, and they are certainly someone that could surprise a few at this summer’s major tournament.
Jack Hendry and Kevin Nisbet scored for the Scots. However, a Memphis Depay double meant the game finished level.
Arsenal fans know all about how brilliant Tierney can be because he’s usually one of their standout men. Unfortunately, injuries can halt him at times.
The left-back still is a key player at the Emirates Stadium, and the same can be said for the role he plays in his nation’s side.
Arsenal star Tierney crucial for Scotland this summer
If Scotland are to go deep into Euro 2020, they’ll need their top players at their best. Tierney 100 per cent falls into that category so is one of the first names in the XI.
His versatility means he plays a key role for Scotland as the left-sided defender in a back three. Additionally, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson is next to him as a left wing-back.
Tierney looks comfortable as a centre-back, but it holds back his attacking quality at times.
It’s vital they manage to fit both Robertson and Tierney into the same XI. Ultimately, they are the duo consistently performing at the best level.
