Whilst Manchester City were putting a rough week behind them to defeat West Ham United 2-0 one of the club’s loan stars was having an evening to remember in North London.
Angelino has had an interesting career at Manchester City. The Spanish full-back initially arrived from Deportivo La Coruna in 2013. Loan spells at New York City, Girona, Mallorca, and NAC Breda followed before a permanent switch to PSV Eindhoven in 2018. Last summer, after one season with the Dutch giants, City brought the Spaniard back to The Etihad by triggering his buy-back clause.
However, despite Pep Guardiola’s side having plenty of frailties at left-back, Angelino struggled for opportunities at the club and was loaned out to RB Leipzig in January. The German side, according to the Daily Mail, will have the option to purchase him permanently for £25 million in the summer.

It is an option they will surely exercise because the defender was superb last night.
Angelino was sensational for Leipzig as they deservedly came away with a 1-0 win against Jose Mourinho’s men last night.
His constant pressure down the left-hand side had Serge Aurier scrambling and it was a display that had plenty of football fans applauding the player on social media.
Many are wondering why Angelino was not given more of a chance to shine at Manchester City during his time with the club. Fans at The Etihad will just hope they don’t live to regret the club’s decision on the 23-year-old Spanish talent.
