Spurs midfielder Giovani Lo Celso was in World Cup qualifying action for Argentina last night.

The Tottenham ace delivered an impressive display for his nation, providing a superb assist in a 3-1 win over Venezuela.

Lo Celso split the defence open with a pass for reported Spurs summer target Lautaro Martinez, who calmly slotted home.

Argentina’s goal came near the end of a first half which saw Luis Martinez sent off for a horror tackle on Lionel Messi.

Joaquin Correa and Angel Correa extended the visitors’ lead in the second half before Yeferson Soteldo scored a late consolation from the spot.

All in all a successful night’s work for the Albiceleste, with Lo Celso once again shining for his nation.

And plenty of Argentina fans loved what they saw from the Spurs man:

Argentina face Brazil on Sunday before wrapping up their September programme against Bolivia.

Spurs are then back in action on Saturday 11 September away at Crystal Palace.
