Some Everton fans worried as PL rivals reportedly want Toffees-linked £30m-rated star
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey, which is worrying some Everton fans on Twitter given recent rumours linking them to him.
The Athletic linked Everton with the 23-year-old Bundesliga star at the beginning of the week. The report mentions him as someone on Rafael Benitez’s shortlist of potential targets.
However, the Daily Mail now reports that Premier League rivals Villa are admirers of the Leverkusen ace. It is understood Villa are lining up a move for Bailey, who is valued between £25-30million.
Bailey is a talented right-winger who was sensational during the previous season for German club Leverkusen. He scored 15 goals and made 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
The left-footed wide man has speed, directness and flair in his game, so English clubs are circling.
Everton should be worried of Villa interest in Leon Bailey
Rightly so, a selection of Everton supporters on social media are concerned about Villa’s presence in the hunt to sign Leverkusen’s star man.
Dean Smith’s side have shown huge ambition with the capture of Emiliano Buendia already this summer. In addition, they’ve spent big and successfully in the past couple of windows.
Transfer reports suggest Villa are readying a move for Bailey, so perhaps Everton need to act fast if they are serious about signing the speed machine.
