Some Everton fans want Jordan Pickford dropped for Jonas Lossl

Everton’s loss to Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend was largely blamed on a controversial VAR decision. But one player who might be pleased that distracted from his own shortcomings is goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Brighton took the lead against Everton when Pascal Gross smashed home a free-kick in the first-half.

But Everton and England goalkeeper Pickford got two hands to the ball and should have made the save.

It was an error from England’s number one and he has been out of form for much of the current season.

In fact, some Everton fans are even debating whether the time has come for Pickford to have a wake-up call.

Everton signed the Danish international Jonas Lossl on a free transfer in the summer, following the expiration of his contract at Huddersfield Town.

Brought in as cover, the 30-year-old was never expected to take the number-one slot from Pickford.

However, some fans on Twitter are of the belief that Pickford needs a wake-up call. He seems undroppable at the moment and that lack of fear can often see a goalkeeper lapse into comfortability and poor form.

So plenty think the time is now right to send Pickford a message, and give Lossl a chance between the sticks…

However, as this Everton fan pointed out, Lossl did not exactly have the best of seasons at the Yorkshire club last term…
