Some Everton fans shocked by links with Rangers boss Gerrard
Some Everton fans were shocked by links with Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.
According to The Athletic, the Rangers boss is one of the candidates to replace Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian left the club to return to Real Madrid, where he replaced Zinedine Zidane.
However, Gerrard isn’t the only man in the frame. David Moyes, Roberto Martinez, Paulo Fonseca and Erik ten Haag are also in the frame.
The 41-year-old enjoyed a brilliant campaign last season. His Rangers sid lifted the Scottish Premiership title, unbeaten, finishing 20+ points clear of Celtic.
He enjoyed a glittering career with city rivals Liverpool. The midfielder was the driving force behind the 2005 Champions League and 2006 FA Cup triumphs.
Rangers boss fantastic choice: But Gerrard to Everton is impossible
Whilst a move for Gerrard would excite Everton fans, it’s impossible to see the Rangers man make the move.
Years and years of relationship building with the Anfield faithful means the retired midfielder has built a bond.
And given the fact he rejected a move to Chelsea which would’ve guaranteed trophies, it’s hard to see him move to Goodison Park.
