Some Everton fans were hopeful Theo Walcott would complete a permanent move to Southampton amid claims from Ralph Hasenhuttl the club want to sign the winger.
Speaking ahead of the Saint’s clash against Crystal Palace, the Austrian claimed that he was hopeful his side could sign the 32-year-old on a permanent deal in the summer.
The Goodison Park faithful’s excitement over a potential departure for the experienced attackers comes after a less than fruitful spell with the Blues. Walcott has endured a fairly poor spell upon his return to St Mary’s, scoring just twice in 19 Premier League appearances for the club. However, he also suffered a fairly lengthy hamstring injury, missing 11 games across all competitions.
