Some Everton fans hopeful Walcott can complete Southampton transfer amid Hasenhuttl claims
Some Everton fans were hopeful Theo Walcott would complete a permanent move to Southampton amid claims from Ralph Hasenhuttl the club want to sign the winger.
Speaking ahead of the Saint’s clash against Crystal Palace, the Austrian claimed that he was hopeful his side could sign the 32-year-old on a permanent deal in the summer.
The Goodison Park faithful’s excitement over a potential departure for the experienced attackers comes after a less than fruitful spell with the Blues. After his move from Arsenal back in 2018, the Englishman scored 11 times in his 89 appearances, falling down the pecking order and in turn moving back to his first-ever club.
Walcott has endured a fairly poor spell upon his return to St Mary’s, scoring just twice in 19 Premier League appearances for the club. However, he also suffered a fairly lengthy hamstring injury, missing 11 games across all competitions.
Seeing Walcott depart the club would be huge for the Merseysiders who have will be looking to free up space in attack to welcome more forwards. Speaking last week, Carlo Ancelotti claimed the team needed to play more attractive football with attackers a priority.
