Some Everton fans have strong message for Marcel Brands after latest defeat

Plenty of Everton fans are not impressed with the work of transfer guru Marcel Brands.

Everton suffered a disappointing loss to Sheffield United at Goodison Park yesterday to continue their inconsistent start to the new season.

A Yerry Mina own goal and a Lys Mousset finish saw Everton lose yet again in what was an uninspired performance.

After the game, there were boos from the home support as many start to lose patience with Everton manager Marco Silva.

However, plenty of Everton fans are also pointing the finger at the club’s director of football.

Marcel Brands did some good business in the summer, with the likes of Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi looking like potential good signings for the future.

However, he has failed to provide Silva with what he needed in several positions.

Everton needed a left-footed attacker but failed to find one. The club also desperately needed to strengthen at centre-back. Kurt Zouma and Phil Jagielka both left the club in the summer and were not replaced. Yerry Mina and Michael Keane started the season strong but have had struggled in the past two games and only Mason Holgate looks like a suitable replacement.

There has been some bad luck, with the injury to new signing Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes’ current absence. However, plenty of Everton fans are not happy with the work done by Brands over the summer.
