Some Everton fans believe Morgan Schneiderlin must be sold in January

Everton put in a brilliant display at the weekend to dispatch of Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park. It was a positive display from the Toffees who were thoroughly deserving of their 3-1 win.

One area of the pitch in which they dominated was the centre of midfield. The pairing of Idrissa Gana Gueye and Andre Gomes dominated their opponents and left Everton fans excited for what they can do going forward.

Gomes’ arrival has, in particular, excited Everton fans. He has thrived since joining from Barcelona on loan and Everton fans desperately want him to stay already. His positive play, deceptive strength and vision for the game have made him an instant fan hit.

It certainly does not make good reading for another Everton player. Morgan Schneiderlin is currently down the pecking order at Everton.

The £22 million signing from January 2017 has struggled to win over the Everton fans since his arrival at the club, especially after a poor season last campaign. With Gomes’ form, Marco Silva a big fan of Tom Davies and James McCarthy back fit, it is hard to see how Schneiderlin has a future at the club.

Everton will surely hope to cash in on the Frenchman in January, with a permanent deal for Gomes already a clear priority.
