England’s UEFA Nations League campaign came to an end yesterday with a penalty shootout win over Switzerland to claim third place. Coupled with a defeat to The Netherlands not many England players put in their best performances.
But one man who can hold his head up high from both games is Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The England man made several decent stops against Holland earlier in the week before putting in a heroic display in yesterday’s shootout. Not only did he make a crucial penalty stop to win the game, but he even scored from 12 yards as well.

It has certainly been a good week for the Everton man after an inconsistent season.
Pickford had a ropey few months after a poor mistake against Liverpool in December but by the end of the season was perhaps back to his best form.
The 25-year-old showed good character to get through those months and his performances for England will send him off into pre-season on a massive high after a difficult campaign.
Everton fans will hope he turns that into an excellent season at Goodison Park next term.
