Some Everton fans angered as Rodriguez misses Wolves win due to 'fatigue'
Some Everton fans were lashing out at James Rodriguez after news emerged over his omission from the squad for the win over Wolves.
Rodriguez only returned from a short-term calf injury during the last game against Sheffield United, his first start for the Blues since the 1-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The summer signing from Real Madrid has enjoyed a mixed season with the Merseysiders, contributing 15 goals across all competitions, but, missing 18 games due to fitness issues.
His performances and commitment has drawn criticism from Bein Sport presenter Richard Keys, who lashed out at the 29-year-old.
We’ll never know the real reason behind Rodriguez’s absence from the squad, however, should the speculation be proven it sort of adds a some context to Carlo Ancelotti’s comments about player commitment.
Prior to the clash against the Midlanders, the Italian called on players who didn’t want to be at the club to leave, and should that be the case for the former Real Madrid man, he knows where the exit door is.
Here are how fans reacted to speculation over the playmaker’s absence…
