Some Crystal Palace fans were praising Christian Benteke after the Belgian made it two goals in two games during the defeat to Southampton.

For the second consecutive game, the Palace frontman scored in just the second minute of proceedings as he drove home past Fraser Forster.

Benteke has enjoyed a decent spell in front of goal recently, scoring five goals in his last 11 Premier League outings. It’s a figure which makes him the club’s second top goalscorer of the season, two behind winger Wilfried Zaha.

There has been speculation over the 30-year-old’s future at the club with the striker’s contract up at the end of the season. According to recent reports, the Belgium international could join Turkish giants Fenerbahce on a free transfer before this summer’s European Championship.
