Some Celtic fans buzzing after being linked with signing 'on another level'
A number of Celtic fans have welcomed the speculation claiming Daizen Maeda to Parkhead is all-but done.
According to Yahoo! Japan, the Hoops will bring the Yokohama F Marinos forward to Glasgow on an initial loan.
Celtic then have the option to sign Maeda permanently in the summer for 2m euro (£1.7m), added the outlet.
The 24-year-old is reportedly one of Ange Postecoglou’s key targets, the two having worked together at Yokohama.
Maeda registered 23 goals and three assists in the J-League last season, helping his team to second place.
The Japan international was joint-top scorer in the division and featured in the league’s best XI.
As per The Scotsman, he featured heavily in the top 10 for sprints per game in the J-League this past season.
Maeda also recorded the most touches in the opposition box and second most shots.
In addition, the offside flag only went up against him 10 times in nearly 3,000 minutes of football last term.
A versatile player, Maeda can play on the flanks or centrally, as second striker or centre-forward.
And plenty of Celtic fans are delighted to hear he’s seemingly Parkhead-bound:
He looks electric over 10/15 yards and an absolute nuisance for defenders.

Maeda looks like pretty good player👏🍀
He's much more than that. He ghosts with his movements a lot like Kyogo and gets into good positions. All he needs is half a yard headstart and he's clear to use that pace which will be a huge help in Europe and bigger games here. Maeda will be a great signing for Celtic.
