Some Burnley fans on Twitter were blown away by the weekend performance from their midfielder Josh Brownhill, who is someone that has been linked with Premier League rivals West Ham this month.

Brownhill, who moved to Turf Moor for £9million (BBC) in January 2020, starred on Saturday for his team in the Premier League.

He completed 90 minutes in Burnley’s important 2-1 away victory against Everton at Goodison Park.

His eye-caching displays in the top flight has lead to recent speculation about his future.

TEAMtalk have reported that Burnley could find it hard to keep the 25-year-old beyond this summer.

It is understood that he’s being scouted by West Ham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.

Brownhill, who is a regular starter in Sean Dyche’s XI, was a huge influence during Burnley’s league win against Everton.

The all-action central midfielder played a big role in the opening goal after winning possession for his side, plus he showed off relentless work-rate and real quality in possession.

If West Ham’s scouts watched him today, they surely would have liked what they’ve seen.

The Hammers have a formidable midfield duo in Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice, but Brownhill looks like someone that’s only going to keep getting better, and could be a great addition to the squad at the London Stadium if they decide to ramp up interest.

Here are some Burnley fans waxing lyrical about the midfielder’s weekend display:
