Some Bournemouth fans can’t resist digs at Tyrone Mings after Aston Villa win

Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Bournemouth at Villa Park yesterday.

Aston Villa lost to Bournemouth in the Premier League yesterday in a game that pitted Tyrone Mings up against his former employers.

A penalty from Josh King and a deflected effort from Harry Wilson gave the Cherries all three points at Villa Park.

The second goal, in particular, left plenty of Bournemouth fans happy on Twitter. Not just because new signing Wilson scored it, but because of the role Mings played in it.

Of course, Aston Villa snapped up Mings from Bournemouth this summer for a fee reported to be in the region of £26.5 million by The Guardian.

It came off the back of a loan spell at Villa Park which had Aston Villa fans amazed that Bournemouth were not using the player more.

Mings suffered from injuries early into his Bournemouth career and never established himself as a starter as a consequence.

So throughout his loan spell and the transfer dealings this summer, Aston Villa and Bournemouth fans often found themselves in disagreement on Twitter.

Which left some Cherries supporters ready to revel in the unfortunate deflection from Mings.
