Some Barcelona fans react to West Ham links with Martin Braithwaite

West Ham may reportedly be set to sign centre-forward Martin Braithwaite this summer – and some Barcelona fans on Twitter have responded to claim they would like him to leave.

Braithwaite has scored eight goals in 53 appearances for current club Barcelona, but speculation now suggests he could be on the move during the current transfer window.

Spanish publication Sport reports that West Ham have reached “advanced discussions” in their attempt to sign the 30-year-old.

It is understood a €15million (£12.8million) fee has been agreed between the Premier League club and the La Liga giants for him.

However, the Irons are going to need to increase their current wage offer to the Denmark international. As it stands, he’s unhappy with the contract that’s on the table for him.

Barcelona fans happy to wave goodbye to Martin Braithwaite

A selection of Barcelona supporters on social media are celebrating the idea of Braithwaite leaving.

The striker isn’t in the elite bracket like some of the greats the Camp Nou has had in recent years. However, he could be a decent squad option at the London Stadium.

Michail Antonio is the frontman that leads the line for David Moyes’ XI, but injuries are the one negative against his name. Versatile attacker Braithwaite may be worth the gamble at a little over £10million.
