Aston Villa are still looking for their first point since returning to the Premier League after defeat at home to Bournemouth yesterday. Aston Villa’s downfall came at their own doing, with two big mistakes costing them dearly.
Firstly, Tom Heaton gave away a silly penalty early in the game before Douglas Luiz’s bizarre leave let Harry Wilson rifle home a deflected shot for 2-0.
Luiz pulled one back for Villa with a stunning goal but the damage had been done already and Bournemouth took the win.
It was unfortunate for Aston Villa as their performance did not warrant a defeat.

However, some fans are not happy with the team selection from Dean Smith.
Whilst current full-backs Neil Taylor and Ahmed Elmohamady have not done much wrong in the opening two games of the campaign, some Aston Villa fans want newbies Matt Targett and Frederic Guilbert to get a chance in their next game.
The consensus is that the current full-back options do not offer enough in attack to truly threaten Premier League opposition.
Guilbert, in particular, had an impressive pre-season whilst Aston Villa spent big to bring in Targett from Southampton.
It will certainly be interesting to see just who Smith decides to play in the role when Aston Villa face Everton on Friday night.
