Some Aston Villa fans were left feeling saddened after it was confirmed that Ahmed Elmohamady will be leaving the club this summer.
The Egyptian’s contract is due to expire at the end of June and has been let go by the Villains after the lack of a contract extension.
Elmohamady joined the club from Hull City after the Tigers’ relegation from the top-flight back in 2017. He’s gone on to make more than 120 appearances for the outfit and helped them earn promotion back to the top-flight two seasons ago.
He’s seemed to have developed quite the bond with the Villa Park faithful and declared that he’d love to return in a coaching capacity in the future.
When talking about returning to the side, Elmohamady said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved with Villa.”
