Some Aston Villa fans react to Jack Grealish's injury update
Some Aston Villa fans have been reacting on social media after Birmingham Live quoted Jack Grealish as revealing he is set to visit a specialist in London to assess his shin injury.
The England maestro has been out of action since developing the problem during training in February, resulting in Grealish missing his side’s last 11 Premier League games.
Dean Smith’s side have only managed to claim three wins and have fallen to five defeats in the fixtures that the Villans captain has sat out, resulting in the claret and blue club slipping from eighth to 10th in the top-flight standings.
Grealish is hopeful that he will soon be able to aid his team’s efforts over the final stretch of the campaign, which could potentially boost his chances of being selected for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for this summer’s European Championships.
“I haven’t actually got a date yet but I’m going to London on Thursday,” he said. “I’m hoping [to be back in] a week or 10 days.”
Grealish returning to action next week could see the five-capped England international be deemed available for Aston Villa’s final four fixtures of the season, but would miss at least the visit of Manchester United this Sunday.
A further few days in the treatment room risks Grealish also sitting out Everton’s trip to Villa Park next Thursday, before a three-day turnaround before the Villans travel to face Crystal Palace in a tightly packed run-in.
Here is how these Aston Villa fans responded to Grealish revealing he is set to visit a specialist this week:

Guys don’t get confused when he said 10 days he means 10 weeks

I hope he’s telling the truth here

Take your time Jack would rather he didn’t rush himself back and we have a fully fit Jack ready for next season we’ve afforded ourselves the luxury of not having to rush him back

I just hope he’s still a Villa player when he IS finally fit again. 😟

10 days? There is 21 days left till the end of the season getting unlikely he will play again this season which could mean he won’t be involved in the euros. Plus side he will be fit and ready for next season.

I’ll put that down as he’ll come on as a sub during the last match for a cameo at the rate

On the plus side we’re safe this season and the less he plays the less likely anyone else is to swoop and buy him if they think he’s an injury liability

A week leaves him with 2 games to play at most. No chance he’ll be fit but with the larger squad maybe it’s a risk worth taking for England. Not good for villa though.

bro the season is over in about 15 minutes can you not wait

The longer he leaves it, the greater the risk that he isn’t going to the Euros. He’s going to need to be fully game fit PDQ.
