Some Arsenal fans wave goodbye to Guendouzi after tweet praising Emery
Some Arsenal fans were left waving goodbye to Matteo Guendouzi after he tweeted a message praising former manager Unai Emery.
On a post on Twitter, the £40k-per-week Gunners midfielder lauded the Spaniard, claiming the Villarreal boss is ‘smart and elegant’ after Villarreal defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final
Guendouzi joined the north London giants back during the 2018 summer transfer window. He was a key figure under Emery and featured 66 times when the former Sevilla man was in charge.
The France youth international seems to be a keen supporter for the coach and claimed back in March that he’d never forget the Spaniard for the rest of his life.
TBR View: Guendouzi’s praising of Emery sign Arsenal career is coming to an end
Given the acrimonious end to his season last campaign, there is a massive chance this post is hinting towards his discontent towards Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta.
Guendouzi was one of the players who thrived under Emery’s management. He had a spat with Arteta last season, and this post could be a way of showing the former Manchester City assistant, he prefers the Villarreal man over him.
After Guendouzi tweeted praising Emery, this could well signal the end of his short, yet entertaining, career in north London.
Here is how fans reacted to the post…
