Arsenal fans spotted Thierry Henry and Daniel Ek in attendance at the Emirates on Sunday to watch Mikel Arteta’s side convincingly beat Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

The legendary Frenchman and the Spotify billionaire were constantly in the news a few months ago. The latter publicly expressed his interest in buying Arsenal from the Kroenkes, while Henry and fellow club legends Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp agreed to help him out.

Ek reportedly tabled a bid to take over the club he has supported since he was a child, but the Kroenkes didn’t even consider it. He has been away from the news since, but Henry made it clear last night that the Swede is going nowhere.

Thierry Henry: Daniel Ek is here to stay

The Arsenal legend said live on Sky Sports last night: “Well, to be able to get there, you need to have someone to respond on the other side. It didn’t happen yet.

“We, he, is here to stay! So, let’s see what’s going to happen. But, for the moment, we enjoyed the win yesterday (Sunday).”

Asked if there’s any dialogue between Ek and the Kroenkes, Henry replied: “Not at the moment. I think it’s going to be long. How long it’s going to be, I don’t actually know. But, we are here to stay.”

Arsenal fans react to Henry’s comments

Arsenal were the highest spenders in the Premier League this summer, but many fans are still not fully convinced by the Kroenkes. Most supporters would take Ek over KSE in a heartbeat, and Henry’s comments have just increased the optimism.

While some fans don’t believe that the Kroenkes will ever change their stance, there are a few others who feel there’s a chance this will happen if Henry, Ek and co keep trying like they are now.
