Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner is reportedly set to leave the club after the Europa League final.
The veteran Swiss international joined the club last summer on a free transfer after a seven-year stint at Juventus.
He was Unai Emery’s first signing and he was expected to come in and be a solid squad player – but things really didn’t pan out that way.
It has been a torrid season for Lichtsteiner, who has struggled to adapt to the pace and intensity of English football.
He may have won the Scudetto in every year he was at Juventus, as well as four Coppa Italias, but the experienced star really has been make to look very average in England.
His struggles have even forced Emery to shoehorn Ainsley Maitland-Niles in at right-back to cover the injured Hector Bellerin.
Arsenal do actually have the option to extend Lichtsteiner’s contract by another year, but that is highly unlikely.

Quite useless. Was an overly aggressive player that made too many mistakes on the back line. Definitely was not worth it
