Some Arsenal fans have reacted to rumours Real Madrid want to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.
Diario Gol claim los Blancos are plotting a £74 million swoop for the Gabon international, who has been a revelation for the Gunners since his January 2018 switch from Borussia Dortmund.
Aubameyang has scored 41 goals for the club in just 64 appearances so far, and this term he scooped the Golden Boot along with Liverpool attackers Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a rebuild this summer after a disastrous season, with 14 players up for the chop according to The Daily Mail.
The Spanish heavyweights won no trophies and were dumped out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage by Ajax.
They have watched as rivals Barcelona have dominated the league, and Zinedine Zidane is seemingly ready to splash the cash.
The likes of Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen have all been strongly rumoured, but Aubameyang’s name has come right out of the blue.
Arsenal fans react
A number of Arsenal fans expressed their dismay over Real’s £74 million links to their talisman:
What are they smoking? @Aubameyang7 is going nowhere

Those saying to cash in are idiots who don’t understand football. With this horrible defence he and laca got us to 5th and may be win the league. With a solid defence we may target for the league but idiots won’t understand

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are interested in Aubameyang as a replacement for Bale. Pay us £100m, throw in Varane & The Bernabéu and we have a deal. If not look elsewhere.

Nah man we’re good

Ridiculous! If we cash in we’re gonna see maybe £20m of that actually be used for further buys, Kroenke will pocket the rest. Its stupid to think we’ll reinvest all of it in a player as good as auba

This better not be true. Though I’ve never really trusted the Kroenkes. I don’t believe they have the sporting side of Arsenal as a priority rather they’re looking to cash in big. Profiteering is the name of the game.

I take back what I said about Aubameyang, he has been great this season. Not just his golden boot but his personality I think would be something we would miss if we was to sell to Real Madrid. I know that the £74 million seems attractive, but would we be able to replace him?
