Some Arsenal fans have been left feeling happy after reports emerged concerning the future of defender Calum Chambers.

According to football.london, the right-back will be offered a new contract as a reward for his performances in recent months. The defender returned from a long-term injury and deputised for the Gunners on the right-side of defence during the latter stages of the Europa League.

Chambers seens to have usurped Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares for the starting role in Mikel Arteta’s team and has provided some sensational crosses from wide areas. His most effective game proved to be the 3-3 draw against West Ham, where the ace directly contributed to all three goals.

With Bellerin looking likely to leave and Cedric proving a mixed bag so far throughout his Arsenal career, retaining Chambers is a smart move from the club.

He also proves to be more comfortable in the final third than either of his Spanish and Portuguese compatriots as seen by his crossing and passing ability.
