Some Arsenal fans desperate to sign 21-year-old with a ‘bit of Henry in him’

A number of Arsenal fans have called on Edu and Mikel Arteta to move for Alexander Isak next year in wake of his latest performance.

The Gunners were linked with the Sweden international in the summer transfer window.

However, Isak signed a new contract at Real Sociedad in July, which will take him to the summer of 2026.

El Desmarque reported that the 21-year-old’s release clause increased from €70million (£60million) to €90million (£77.5million).

But earlier this week, football.london’s Chris Wheatley claimed there’s still “certainly interest” in Isak from Arsenal.

The 6ft 3in ace netted 17 goals in 34 La Liga games last season, and excelled for Sweden at Euro 2020 this summer.

While Isak is yet to get off the mark in the league this term, he netted for Sociedad in the Europa League 2-2 draw at PSV on Thursday.

The attacking prodigy slid home at the back post to put his side 2-1 up in the 39th minute.
