Some Arsenal fans have been begging Martin Odegaard to return to Real Madrid after the midfielder commented on his future in north London.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Germany, the Norway international claimed that he’s happy at the Emirates Stadium, however, that his future is in the hands of parent club Real Madrid.

Odegaard has enjoyed a mixed time since moving from the La Liga giants to the Premier League, scoring in back-to-back games but getting knocked out of the Europa League by Villarreal.

However, his comments come just a month or so after club legend Ian Wright claimed that the Norwegian playmaker is too good to be playing for the Gunners.

A permanent move for Odegaard isn’t really a necessity at this moment in time and given the steep asking price set by the Los Blancos, the outfit would be smart to steer clear of making a move.

At £40m, Arsenal are better placed to turn to their very own Emile Smith Rowe, who proves a far better option in the number 10 role than his European compatriot.
