A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to praise Joe Hardy for his latest impressive display for the Reds Under-23s.
The 22-year-old scored twice for the Anfield outfit in Friday’s Premier League 2 meeting with Manchester City, though he couldn’t prevent a 3-2 defeat.
Hardy opened the scoring on 16 minutes, firing a calm finish beyond Cieran Slicker and into the net from inside the area.
Alexander Robertson and Cole Palmer then scored before the break to turn the game around for City.
Hardy grabbed his second of the night just after the break to make it 2-2, placing an effort past Slicker after Ben Woodburn cut the ball back to him.
Sadly, Liverpool couldn’t hang on, as Felix Nmecha netted late on to ensure City got all three points.
Nonetheless, some Reds fans were pleased with Hardy’s efforts, praising the 22-year-old striker on social media:
Lovely play by Joe Hardy and Tyler Morton! Tyler Morton picks up the ball in midfield and slots it through to Hardy, who clinically fired the U23s ahead! 1-0 Liverpool! 🔴

A really solid goalscorer Liverpool U23 has in Joe Hardy. Great anticipation, good composure, clinical finisher. 6 goals in 9 games this season, 9 in 13 for the U23s since signing. Probably won’t make the first team, but could generate a nice fee to reinvest into the academy.

Football League teams should be all over him. Verge of 23 and yet to taste any senior minutes aside from 8 minutes in the cup tie against Shrewsbury.
Agree with the points you make and aside from the points you make, he’s a ridiculously hard worker. I like him.
