‘Solid goalscorer’: Some Liverpool fans wowed by 22-year-old striker’s latest display

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to praise Joe Hardy for his latest impressive display for the Reds Under-23s.

The 22-year-old scored twice for the Anfield outfit in Friday’s Premier League 2 meeting with Manchester City, though he couldn’t prevent a 3-2 defeat.

Hardy opened the scoring on 16 minutes, firing a calm finish beyond Cieran Slicker and into the net from inside the area.

Alexander Robertson and Cole Palmer then scored before the break to turn the game around for City.

Hardy grabbed his second of the night just after the break to make it 2-2, placing an effort past Slicker after Ben Woodburn cut the ball back to him.

Sadly, Liverpool couldn’t hang on, as Felix Nmecha netted late on to ensure City got all three points.
