Sol Campbell has told Stadium Astro that Martin Odegaard that the has a long road ahead to become an Arsenal success – but concedes the Norwegian does have talent.
The Norway international checked in during the January transfer window from Real Madrid.
He played the final seven minutes of Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United, coming off the bench for Emile Smith Rowe.

Campbell has suggested that he thinks the 21-year-old is quality but claims it’s a long road towards becoming an Arsenal favourite.
He told Stadium Astro: “It’s always nice to have young players coming in. If he gets more minutes on the pitch, then he will show his quality.
“It’s a long road for him but hopefully the next time he comes on he can make an impact. We need players who are going to change something on the pitch.
“If you’re a good player, training every day, there are a lot of games. Anything can change in a second. There are plenty of games for him to impress. It’s all up to him.”
Campbell spent five years at the club having checked in from Tottenham in 2001.
He knows all about having to work to impress and for Odegaard, the challenge is pretty different.
After falling out of favour at Real Madrid he will be keen to get into the team as quickly as possible and show Zinedine Zidane what he is missing.
TBR View: Odegaard has the quality to prove a decent loan addition
The challenge for the £85,000-a-week Norwegian star is to simply get into the team as quickly as possible.
Last season he fired seven goals and claimed nine assists on loan at Real Sociedad and the quality is evident.

Campbell is perhaps right to suggest the road is long – especially with Smith Rowe currently playing well.
There are plenty of games left, however, and Odegaard wouldn’t have been signed if he wasn’t going to feature.
Arsenal will hope to climb the league in the next few weeks and once the youngster is up to speed, he could quickly become an integral part of Arteta’s team.
