A number of Leeds United fans have welcomed the news that Liam Cooper has made the Scotland squad for Euro 2020.
The Whites captain will be competing in the tournament – Scotland’s first since 1998 – on the back of a fruitful season at Elland Road.
Cooper has spent some time on the sidelines due to injury but has still managed 24 Premier League appearances this term.

At international level, the 29-year-old made his long-awaited Scotland debut in 2019, more than three years since his first call-up to the squad.
Cooper was an unused substitute in the 1-0 friendly win over Denmark in March 2016, and took to the pitch in a 2-1 loss to Russia in a Euro qualifier in September 2019.
He has since clocked up a further four caps and will be hoping to add to his tally against England, Croatia and Czech Republic in Group D of the tournament.
Here’s how some Leeds fans reacted to the news:
Cooper has been with Leeds since 2014, when he joined from Chesterfield in a £675,000 deal, and has clocked up 223 competitive appearances for the Whites.
