‘So special’: Some Arsenal fans applaud ‘class’ gesture from Sky Sports towards Bukayo Saka
It has been an eventful 24 hours for Bukayo Saka, but one that the England and Arsenal star will never forget and take valuable lessons from.
The 19-year-old winger was tasked with and missed the final penalty in last night’s Euro 2020 final against Italy.
It was a moment that will live with Arsenal and England supporters forever. Saka, in the biggest game of his life, missed the opportunity to become a legend for both club and country.
Yet football works in mischievous ways. And last night it reared its ugly head as Saka’s penalty was comfortably saved by the giant Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Indeed, Saka will no doubt recover from the miss. At just 19, the Arsenal star is already a leader at club level and has overcome adversity once in his career to establish himself as one of the Gunners key players under Mikel Arteta.
And Sky Sports acknowledged Saka’s bravery and ambition for England last night by awarding the winger a perfect 10/10 rating despite missing the crucial penalty and only coming on in the second half.
And as you would expect, Arsenal fans on social media loved the gesture. With supporters eager to show Saka with love and support following one of the lowest points in the teenager’s career.
Here’s what some fans had to say on Twitter about Sky Sports awarding Bukayo Saka a 10/10 rating…
I’ve honestly never been more emotionally attached to an Arsenal player in my life. There is something so special about Saka. Not just his ability but how he carries himself. How everyone that has been around him speaks of him. He’ll be back to carrying Arsenal in no time https://t.co/zhQI7vlcdA— Christopher Hughes (@ChrisMJHughes) July 12, 2021
