Achraf Lazaar made his return from injury in Sheffield Wednesday’s dominant victory over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

With Sheffield Wednesday three goals up, Lazaar was brought on for Marco Matias with four minutes remaining.

It was his first game since late February when he picked up an injury in the first half of the win over Brentford.

Lazaar has now played three games for the Owls since his January loan switch from Newcastle United and he has thoroughly impressed fans.

Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday supporters are already calling for the 27-year-old left-back to sign a permanent deal.

And considering he has played just 10 times for the Magpies since his summer 2016 move, Lazaar could be available this summer.

The Morocco international’s primary focus will be a late surge for the play-offs with Sheffield Wednesday but his future is another issue.

Sheffield Wednesday fans took to Twitter to welcome Lazaar back to action and many called for him to sign a permanent contract.
