Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk once again impressed for the Netherlands as they ran out 1-0 winners in their Nations League meeting with Poland on Friday night.
The Reds ace and Oranje captain was in complete control at the back, looking composed and untroubled as always.
Even a bad challenge from Krzysztof Piatek, who hacked him down, didn’t seem to dampen his spirit as he contributed to his nation earning a clean sheet.

Van Dijk also contributed to the Netherlands’ attacking efforts with some neat balls forward.
In the end, the Dutch ran out 1-0 winners, Frenkie de Jong and Hans Hateboer doing well to set up Steven Bergwijn just after the hour for his first international goal.
And Van Dijk’s efforts in particular came for plenty of praise on social media:
Netherlands, currently playing under interim coach Dwight Lodeweges, next host Italy in Amsterdam on Monday.
Liverpool, meanwhile, were in pre-season action against Blackpool on Saturday, wrapping up their programme with a 7-2 win.
Jurgen Klopp’s charges get their 2020-21 Premier League season under way next Saturday at Anfield against newly promoted Leeds United.
