Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to share his reaction after watching Luke Ayling’s stunning goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Well, the BBC Match of the Day host believes Ayling’s strike is Goal of the Season…so far.

In the second game of the 2021/22 Premier League season, the Leeds No.2 let rip after receiving a pass from Stuart Dallas just after half-time.

Ayling’s first touch set him up to smash it, and that’s exactly what he did.

Big season for Luke Ayling

With Raphinha – wearing his new No.10 shirt – ahead of him on the right flank, Ayling could enjoy a big season on a personal level.

Both men have a season of Premier League experience under their belts, and they excelled even in their respective debut seasons last term.

Premier League fans have already begun to see what Ayling is about.

If he can keep combining with Raphinha and getting involved in the final third, he will put his name up in lights.

With the World Cup coming up in 2022 as well, it’s a chance for the 29-year-old to play his way into Gareth Southgate’s thinking.

After today’s strike against the Red Devils, we’re sure the England boss will have already sat up and taken notice of Ayling.
