'So disappointed': Mehrdad Ghodoussi reacts after Newcastle lose 1-0 to Liverpool
Mehrdad Ghodoussi has taken to Twitter to react after Newcastle suffered a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League earlier today.
What’s the story?
Well, the Magpies did well to frustrate the Reds for large parts of the game at St James’ Park, but they were unable to salvage a point after Naby Keita scored the winner in the 19th minute.

Nevertheless, Ghodoussi was keen to look at the positives, and he made a good point when sharing his thoughts on Twitter after full-time.

Clearly, Ghodoussi and Amanda Staveley are levelheaded owners, who can put a defeat into perspective.
It does say a lot about how far Newcastle have come since the pair arrived that a defeat to Jürgen Klopp’s side – who are attempting to win the quadruple – has everyone on Tyneside disappointed.
During the days of Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley, a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool would’ve been celebrated as a positive, with plenty expecting the Reds to score four, five or even six under that shambles of a setup.
Eddie Howe must learn from Newcastle 0-1 Liverpool
With the Magpies now safe from the threat of relegation, it’s time for Eddie Howe to start making assessments on his squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
These final three games are not so much about the result, but about who deserves to be starting next season, and also who could be upgraded on in the transfer market.
After all, everyone with the exception of Bruno Guimaraes and a few others are under threat, as Staveley and Ghodoussi are able to afford almost anybody in Europe.
Jonjo Shelvey has already acknowledged that he is likely to be replaced, but at this moment in time, Howe needs to decide who has to be upgraded on this summer, and which players deserve to stay next term.
Whatever happens, it’s sure to be a very exciting summer transfer window for Newcastle.
