‘So deserved’: Jack Grealish joins Aston Villa fans in congratulating Ollie Watkins on England call

Aston Villa striker, Ollie Watkins, was given his first call up to the England squad today following a fine debut season in the Premier League.

The former Brentford man has spearheaded Villa’s attack this season. He’s already hit double figures in the Premier League, which is a good return for his first year in the top flight.

And that form has been rewarded, with Gareth Southgate opting to select Watkins ahead of Leeds United ace, Patrick Bamford.

Watkins becomes the latest Villa player to impress Southgate. The England boss already has Jack Grealish in his plans, while Matty Cash is said to be another on the radar of the England manager.

Villa fans, including Grealish, were quick to sing the praises of Watkins after the news, with many of them keen to show their love for their striker on Twitter.

Grealish himself took to Instagram to celebrate the new, while some Aston Villa fans were loving the fact their main striker had got the nod.
