Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has praised Ibrox winger Ryan Kent following his impressive start to the Scottish Premiership campaign.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a bright season on loan at Rangers from Liverpool in 2018-19, scoring six goals and registering six assists in 23 Premiership appearances.
This prompted Gerrard to splash out a reported £7million for the player last September, and he was tipped to be a game-changer in the Gers’ quest for title number 55.

However, 2019-20 ended up being a somewhat disappointing campaign for Kent, who failed to register a single assist in 21 Scottish Premiership appearances, though he did net seven times.
Kent has hit the ground running this time round, weighing in with two goals in three league games, which have helped Rangers go top of the table with three wins, seven scored and zero conceded.
Gerrard says he’s enjoying seeing Kent so happy in his game and playing without fear, telling the Daily Record: “We want Ryan to play with freedom and go and express himself.
“He is smiling, sharp, and enjoying his football and posting numbers in terms of goals and assists after the benefit of a full pre-season.”
TBR View:
Kent was not the only Rangers player who underachieved last season – many Light Blues did, hence the collapse in domestic form after the restart.
This time round, he’s got off to a flyer, as has the rest of the squad, and hopefully he’ll be able to keep it up, with the quest for title number 55 looking good so far.
