Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left emotional after seeing Harry Kane go over to the away support and give them a round of applause at full-time yesterday.

Repairing relationships?

Tottenham supporters’ relationship with their star striker has been tested heavily in recent weeks, as speculation over his future has persisted.

Kane was heavily criticised by Tottenham fans for turning up late to training, and his public admission that he would be interested in a move to Manchester City hasn’t gone down particularly well.

However, Kane was finally back in a Spurs shirt yesterday and he was certainly given appreciation by the travelling support.

Tottenham fans serenaded Kane with their ‘he’s one of our own chant’ as he came on to the pitch.

And at full-time Kane wandered over and clapped the travelling Spurs fans, to show that their relationship was far from beyond repair.

It was a sight that Tottenham fans had longed to see, and they appreciated their goalscorer coming over to show his appreciation at full-time yesterday.

Encouraging showing

Kane’s showing on the pitch was also a heartening one for Spurs fans, as they won 1-0.

Kane almost scored their second during the contest, after he was slotted through on goal, but just wasn’t able to beat Jose Sa.

Most of Kane’s work came off the ball, but he pressed intently and offered Spurs a good outlet for the closing stages.

Kane certainly didn’t appear to be too tired at full-time, which offers encouragement that he could be back starting for them again soon.

However, the Telegraph have suggested that City could launch one final bid to take the England captain away from Tottenham this week.
