‘Expected to announce’: Sky Sports reporter has just shared a brand new update on Lingard to West Ham rumours

Jesse Lingard is still waiting to announce who he will sign for next and Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has provided the very latest update on the matter.

Lingard is a wanted man this summer after leaving Manchester United and the Hammers have retained an interest ever since he enjoyed a stunning loan spell with the club 18 months ago. However, David Moyes’ side are not guaranteed to land Lingard, who has attracted interest from across Europe.

But according to Sky’s Dharmesh Sheth, a decision from Lingard is coming, and he’s even hinted that it will indeed be West Ham he signs for.

“West Ham United are still awaiting a decision from Jesse Lingard. There is an offer on the table – and Lingard’s expected to announce his next club soon. Lingard has been a free agent for 18 days so it is quite surprising that it’s taken him this long to make a decision but that must be because he’s got quite a few offers,” Sheth said for Sky.

“So he wants to make the right decision. Rather cryptically, he posted a story on his Instagram account of a food restaurant named ‘Chicken Run’, which as informed football supporters would know is the name of an area of one of the stands at the old Boleyn Ground.”

TBR’s View: Lingard Needs To Get On With Things

While it’s admirable of Jesse Lingard to take his time over his new club, the whole charade around the actual announcement is becoming a bit tiresome.

Sure, West Ham fans want Lingard to sign. He did brilliantly for them before and is a fine player. But this whole dropping cryptic messages in and acting as if he’s one of the very best in the world is a bit much.

Lingard needs to get one with things and if he has chosen West Ham, then he needs to let everyone know.
