Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge has tipped Pape Matar Sarr to have a big future at Tottenham having enjoyed a breakout Premier League season.

The 21-year-old midfielder has established himself as a regular for Ange Postecoglou in the Spurs midfielder, with Sarr firmly one of Tottenham’s most important players now in the entire squad.

Having signed a new long-term contract, Sarr’s looks set to become one of Tottenham’s best players in recent memory, and journalist Bridge now thinks the north London club have a gem on their hands.

Bridge said on Last Word on Spurs: “I have got to say there is one player I think has an absolutely immense future at Spurs and I saw it against Bournemouth, it’s Pape Sarr.

“I think he is going to be special. I am really excited to get him back fit after the African Cup of Nations because some players it takes them a while and I think he is gold.

“I know when Spurs signed him, City and United, and all the big hitters were after him, and I think Tottenham doing that deal with Metz to keep him there on loan was a bit of a masterstroke really.”

It’s easy to forget just how young Sarr actually is based on his performances with Tottenham, with the midfielder showing a maturity that’s vast beyond his years.

And for Spurs, they will be internally predicting how long it now takes for Sarr to become a legend of the club, with the Senegal international quite brilliant for a 21-year-old midfielder in the Premier League.

Indeed, few clubs can be as lucky as Tottenham have been in finding a gem like Sarr, with the youngster only getting started in the English top-flight.

And the best is yet to come for Sarr, who in time can become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and a modern-day legend for Tottenham if things continue at their current pace.
