Kevin Campbell has told Super Sunday on Sky Sports (broadcast on 24/4; 17:27) that Sadio Mane could have been sent off during the first-half of the Merseyside derby after the Liverpool star was involved in a couple of clashes.
Mane was booked just before the break after a scuffle involving most of the Reds and Everton players. It stemmed from Abdoulaye Doucoure lashing out at Fabinho as Liverpool played on while Richarlison was down.

Doucoure was booked. But there was also a yellow shown to Mane. And replays showed that he has raised his hand into the face of Allan as the melee went on.
Interestingly, another clip suggested that Mane should have perhaps been in even more trouble. The forward raised his finger into the face of Mason Holgate and appeared to raise it up towards the eye.

Stuart Attwell did not send Mane off. But Campbell suggested while looking at the incident involving Holgate that he would have probably been dismissed had both incidents been noticed.
“That’s a gouge, that’s gouging in the eye,” he told Sky Sports.
“Yeah I think so,” when asked whether he could have been sent off had the incident been seen, “but the referee didn’t see it so let’s get on with it.”
Sadio Mane took gamble getting involved in scuffles as Liverpool chased vital win
Mane could have no complaints for the yellow for raising his hands towards Allan’s face. And in truth, he took a real risk getting involved with Holgate also.
He does not appear to make contact with the defender’s eye, which probably helps him. But Jurgen Klopp may not be happy with the Senegal international.
There was no need to take that gamble and let his temper boil over at a time when Liverpool so desperately needed the victory.
