Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is becoming a real star of this current season and he was once again in fine form at the weekend.

The Italian has stepped into proceedings this season with aplomb and turned opinion very much around when it comes to some Arsenal fans.

Jorginho, alongside Declan Rice in midfield, has been pivotal in helping Arsenal on their current winning run.

And speaking about the former Chelsea man on Sky Sports today, Stephen Warnock has said that he feels Jorginho is quite simply a brilliant football player.

Sky Sports pundit piles praise on Arsenal’s Jorginho

Speaking alongside Sue Smith on Sky this morning, Warnock admitted to really admiring what Jorginho brings to the table.

“I just think his distribution of the ball, his understanding of where to be on the pitch is outstanding. His awareness of what’s around him, the thought that goes into every pass into a player is ‘how would I want to receive the pass’. His passes come with a message. It tells you where they want you go, where the space is. He helps you out as a player. I think he’s an exceptionally gifted footballer, he’s not a world-class footballer, but he’s exceptionally gifted,” Warnock said.

Showing his class

Some players just have it in the locker and Jorginho is one of those players who Arsenal fans should never have doubted.

Sure, he’s not the quickest and won’t go winning games with outrageous goals on a regular basis. But he is so important and his experience and ability to manipulate a game is second to none.

Jorginho has really stepped up to the mark this season and it’s little wonder Declan Rice is doing so well having the Italian alongside him.

There’s been some fine players in the Premier League over the years. And when it’s all said and done, Jorginho will be remembered as being among the best to do it in his position. The Gunners paid just £12m for him, and what a signing it’s turning into.
