Sky Sports pundit Liam Rosenior has raved about the qualities of Pablo Hernandez and described him as a real “driving force” behind Leeds United’s promotion bid this season.
The 33-year-old has been in stunning form at Elland Road this campaign and is a big reason behind the team’s third-placed position in the Championship table, with Sheffield United in second just a point ahead.
He’s made 30 league appearances, scoring 10 goals and supplying 11 assists in return.
The attacking midfielder has been so influential going forward to his team and has the best vision within the squad.
Rosenior was stunned that Hernandez didn’t earn a place in the Championship team of the season, but his Leeds teammates Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips were included.
“For me Hernandez at Leeds, I thought he was a shoe-in to get in there (Championship team of the season),” Rosenior said on the EFL Matters podcast (17:40).
“I thought he’s been a driving force, a creative force. When he has been fit he’s been behind Leeds’ really good form.”

TBR’s View:
Hernandez has been brilliant for Leeds so far this season and he’s leading the charge for automatic promotion.
His experience at the top level really shines through in the Championship and it’s a farce that he’s been left out of the team of the season, as he’s dragged Leeds to three points by himself several times this campaign.
He’s still got a major role to play for Marcelo Bielsa’s side to try get over the line and secure a long awaited return to the Premier League.
The Spaniard is a threat off either the wing or central areas and is so difficult for Championship defenders to handle.
